Call to Action on HB 1361
HB 1361, which we voted to oppose on the ExComm call last week, is scheduled to be up in Committee next Tuesday. The bill would further limit the ability of the Division of Wildlife to use Habitat Stamp dollars to purchase lands in fee title.
Why do we care? Because fee title purchases are what allowed the Division to buy places like the "Dream Stream" reach (now the Charlie Meyers State Wildlife Area), to protect habitat and secure angling access in perpetuity. Your help in generating calls to members of the House State Affairs Committee will be much appreciated.
DTU now has a major success under its belt. Last night The City Council of Littleton approved the S. Platte Park Demonstration Projects 7-0. This approval was the last formal approval that the project needed prior to beginning design.
The Project is now underway. That’s right, the project is now in design for construction. With some additional luck on the funding front, and I don’t anticipate problems, we will complete these projects this year.
